CELL ANALOGY

ANIMAL CELL >> THEME PARK

Animal cells is like a theme park. When you go to a theme park, the first thing you see is of course the gate. After going to the theme park, before we go inside the theme park we need to buy the ticket to be able to get in. The cell membrane is the ticket booth. The cell membrane controls what enters and leave the cell, just like the ticket booth that helps us to get in the theme park. After buying the ticket, we can go in through the entrance to the theme park.

The nucleus controls the cells and tell them what to do, it is the house of DNA. The information centre in a theme park is the nucleus, it contains all the information there is to know about the theme park. Ribosomes makes protein, the ribosomes in the theme park is the food stands or the restaurants. It provides food for the people in the theme park or the visitors. The trash bins on every corner of the theme park represents the lysosomes. When we don't need things anymore we throw them in the trash bin just like lysosomes that throws away all the things we don't need.

The generator or the power plant is something that helps the theme park to process or operate. It generates electricity to give energy to the theme park just like mitochondria that produces energy. Cytoskeleton gives shape and structure for the cells. The gate or the boundary for the rides is the cytoplasm, it protects the people if anything goes wrong near all the rides. Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) transport the protein to other parts of the cell. The staff or manager of the theme park is the ER. They go everywhere to check on everything going on in the theme park or inform something.

Vacuoles stores food, just like the storage in the theme park, it keeps all the good stuff for the theme park or incase something needs to be renewed or replaced to support the theme park. Lastly, when you're about to leave the theme park you always go through the gift or merchandise shop. Some people buy souvenirs from the shop to remember the theme park, some don't. The gift shop represents the Golgi Apparatus, it wraps it all up and send it off (give it to the visitors).
